Legal trade in narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances, and plants in RNM

In Macedonia, the processing of Cannabis, which contains the declared composition of the primary non-psychotropic cannabidiol CBD and the absence/limited presence of the psychotropic THC with a maximum of 0.2%, are categorized as borderline products, which are on free sale, that is, they are issued without a doctor’s prescription.

Unlike CBD the preparations from cannabis are declared as borderline products that go without a medical prescription, in 2023 by amending the Regulation on the form of the prescription, it was possible to put on the market cannabis preparations that contain more than 0.2% tetrahydrocannabinol THC. These THC cannabis preparations are declared as Magistral medicines and can only be purchased with a doctor’s prescription.
